The Global Peace Index (GPI) is an attempt to measure the relative position of nations peacefulness. Countries covered by the GPI must either have a population of more than 1 million or a land area greater than 20,000 square kilometers.

The Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country is bordered by Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the north.
Slovenia, officially the Republic of Slovenia, is a nation state in southern Central Europe. It borders Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Croatia to the south and southeast, and Hungary to the northeast.

Belgium, officially the Kingdom of Belgium, is a federal monarchy in Western Europe. It is a founding member of the European Union and hosts the EU’s headquarters as well as those of several other major international organisations such as NATO. Belgium shares borders with France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe. Sweden borders Norway and Finland, and is connected to Denmark by a bridge-tunnel across the Øresund.
